Wonderful book, charming and very well-written. Great for reading aloud to your children, which I heartily recommend. Little Despereaux is a delight. He's a brave little mouse I think children (and all of us) can identify with, and The Princess Pea is also a warm presence. I think little readers will find much to identify with in Despereaux, and possibly also The Pea. The chapters seem to be composed specifically for reading aloud (at bedtime, perhaps?), as they are short and generally end and begin as if one had left off the night before. Really just a fantastic kids' book. I recommend it for readers of all ages. :)
