it was amazing

This was my first exposure to "steampunk" and I found it beautifully done by the author ... this book is enchanting, the hero (apparently, in the author's self-image) is a charming gentleman, who is solicitous of the heroine's needs (which include absolute submission) and cares for her most capably. I did not become terribly emotionally close to the characters - but I don't think this book is intended to engage at that level. Instead, I stood back and allowed myself to be entertained ... and, in fact, I happily imagined myself in the heroine's place in more than one scene.

So - buy this book if you want to be entertained by a great story with amusing characters - don't expect an emotional connection - but do strap Y/yourself in for a fun ride!
