A fascinating look at the relatively unknown world market for secondhand goods such as furniture, clothes, household items, and more. Especially interesting were the chapters that focused on the inner workings of the Tucson (AZ) area Goodwill stores, including a chapter on residents of Mexico who come across the border to purchase items for their thrift stores. Did you know used mattresses are the #1 goods transported south of the border? People who live in Southern Arizona are familiar with the trucks heading south on the freeway piled high with mattresses.
It gets a little too detailed in places and I tended to skip around a bit but it was still a worthwhile read and recommended for book groups.
