really liked it
Read in February, 2012

The whole book is built around the things Halpern's dad has to say about every situation and on all sorts of occasions. It is definitely not church language, but the book is very funny and so well written. I really liked the dad too. The father is a 73-year-old retired nuclear-medicine doctor. The book 'compiles profanity-laden comments and advice the author received from childhood to the present" (2010). The father of three sons has a good relationship with his wife, is an avid gardener, and is very opinionated. He tackled every situation in the life of his family with love, concern, and a fix. Example: "We're going to cure this case of the stupids." On himself in a physically awkward situation: "I looked like I was being puppeteered by someone with cerebral palsy."
