This book is only worth a read because Houdini was such an interesting guy. I did learn a whole lot about him and he has an amazing story. The authors get along okay for the first 2/3rds of the book (although it is a bit dense at times) but then it gets painfully slow when they get to the section on debunking the spiritualists. That should have been interesting but they managed to make it go on forever. I wished they had talked more about how Houdini (and other people like the spiritualists) did their illusions. They provided some information but left a lot out. For example, I am really curious how he did his "Needles" trick. I think I will try googling it. Overall, fascinating information that I wish had been written better.
