An interesting perspective on one of Britains 'unsung heroes', the mastermind behind the Tudor dynasty. I personally dislike Margaret Beaufort as a character, and Philippa Gregory has done little to improve that impression, but the book was, as always, brilliantly written, fast paced, and excellently characterised - I have to admit to occasionally even feeling a slight bit of sympathy for the main character - as unpleasant a person as she was, but the author did a brilliant job of being evenhanded and, and more importantly, teling a cracking good story!
