it was amazing

What were you doing at age 18 or 19 or 20? Probably not participating in an historic invasion with steep probability of injury or death at the hands of determined and well armed opposition. I don't know if I could have done it. Yet young men, plucks from America's cities, towns and farmland did exactly that...and triumphed. Ordinary people who accomplished extraordinary feats of valor and heroism. It will never be too late to remember these men and be thankful for their
sacrifices.

Ambrose does an exceptional job of recounting the individual trials from the first person accounts, and weaving them into the greater story which was ultimately the defeat of Nazi Germany and the end to of WWII in Europe.
