it was amazing

I picked up this book with a bit of hesitation. I loved her previous books, but I like complex fiction and the setting seemed too trite for me even though it was historic. (Aren't we all book snobs in our own way?) The first part was flirty and fun, building up to painful young adult moments and hard life lessons--a far more sublime reading experience than I anticipated. When it came to the second part, Liz Gilbert pulled off her big magic yet again (I will never again be a doubter) by driving straight to the heart of the matter.

This ended up being one of the most PROFOUND and emotional books I have ever read in regards to intimate relationships, finding and knowing oneself, and the seasons of life. There is nothing sentimental or overly precious here. It is real, raw truth telling and I love Liz Gilbert all over again for it.
