I like Sydney, but I think Rose is a better narrator. Sydney is rather boring in that regard. I think the main issue I have with this book is that it took so long for things to actually happen -- it wasn't until the last 10% of the story that the action really ramped up. That's not really a problem for me -- setting the scene and character development are important factors and action isn't everything. However, Sydney didn't enthrall me as a narrator like Rose did.
