Being a new mom, I am too sleep deprived and at risk of hormones induced gloom to be able to wade through this book. I love the writing style; I'm sure it's an awesome read; I'll be back. But only having 20 minutes a day to read (at most), when this is a book that is both complex and has an apparently large cast of backstory characters, is not working. Plus, truly depressing first few chapters are not helping to defend against the baby blues. But I hope to pick this back up again when things have settled down a bit at home and I'm getting more sleep. Highly recommended to well-rested, cheerful folks who want to bring it down a notch. :D

09/27/2012 "This is certainly a good book, but it's a bit dark, and has a lot of backstory / names to remember. I love the writing style, but this book deserves to be read with someone who can keep two thoughts in their head at the same time (says the sleep-deprived new mom), and who has more than 15 minutes every other day to move through the story. I plan to give this another swing in a few months..."
