liked it

I wished I liked this more because (1) I love Gayle Pitman's books and (2) it's so great whenever an LGBTQ person's story is told. I was super excited to learn more about Gilbert Baker but there were parts in this book that left me scratching my head. I thought I had skipped over a page when they mentioned that they were looking for a new symbol to replace the negative one but they didn't specify in the text what the negative old symbol was. I wouldn't have minded if it was included in the illustration but it wasn't so that left me baffled. And it would have been nice if they included a section that explains what the colors meant. Such a missed opportunity considering how many recent books there are doing just that.
