Heather Frimmer weaves two engrossing POV stories into one. The first is Marnie, a 4th year medical student who is on the verge of graduation and planning her wedding. The second is Joyce, Marnie’s mother who’s chosen to focus on everyone in her family but herself, until she’s diagnosed with breast cancer and she’s forced to seek support and care. Marnie and Joyce both felt like women I already know—such realistic depictions drew me in and wouldn’t let go. I’m looking forward to Frimmer’s next book!
