Sort of like Calvin and Hobbes, but with longer story lines. I really liked the idea that Mal is trying desperately not to admit how smart he is, in order to have a relatively normal life. This story is oddly philosophical, with the question of trying to get a fairly young kid to figure out what job he wants to have when he grows up. Mal's answer is a really great one: "Being the person you want to be is more important than getting the job you want to get."
How can you have a better life than by trying to achieve that?
The artwork is cure and the stories are a lot of fun. I look forward to reading the next volume.
