Kim Harrison has done it again in my opinion! I absolutely love The Hollows series....and unlike other series I keep up with, this one just seems to get better with every book.

Characters....
Rachel really grows in this book. She learns some hard truths after the fiasco with the coven and is finally realizing what her demon magic really means. It was great to see her grow up some. The first few books she didn't really have much growth, but as the series has continued you can see she's learning. Rachel's interactions with Trent were great in this book. No longer is the hatred but an uneasy friendship that they both seem to be trying to figure out.
Trent is great in my opinion. I have liked him since book 1 and we're finally getting to know him. From the very beginning you could see that Trent isn't the cold, un-feeling monster Rachel makes him out to be. As the series has progressed, we have gradually been given more glimpses of who he really is. It wasn't until the last book, Pale Demon, that we really get to know Trent; and I liked him even more after reading that book. You can really see how much he cares about Rachel in this book. Their friendship isn't easy for either of them right now, but it will definitely blossom in books to come. I can't wait to see what happens with them.

Plot....
So, as usual, Rachel's life is in danger. How she gets into all this trouble I will never understand, but she is a master at it. This time it is some crazy hate group who wants to harvest Rachel's blood to kill off all the Inderlander species. The FIB and I.S. team up to try and take this group down but it is cat and mouse through the entire book. Eventually, there's a nice little twist towards the ending which becomes very helpful to Rachel in the end. The old team takes a backseat as Rachel tries to work through her issues with her demon magic and her friends moving on in life. So, instead of depending on the usual sidekicks, she turns to Trent. He really shines in helping Rachel through this run.

Overall....
All in all, the story was full of adrenaline and xhilirating the entire way through. There was never a dull moment for Rachel in trying to make it through this situation alive. A Perfect Blood has only made The Hollows series better, and now I can't wait for the next book. If you've never read this series then you need to....but don't start here. This is definitely a series that needs to be followed through from the beginning.
