really liked it

A mixture of heartfelt heroism and comedic camp, with jokes for kids and grownups alike alongside exploration of what it means to truly be a hero, in big and small ways.

Ubergirl always loved superheroes, so when mysterious red crystals fall to Earth and grant her an amazing set of powers, of course she went hero.

I really liked Kelly, the main character. She's a truly good hearted person, trying to make the world a better place even before she had the power to do so. Her struggles with friendship and bullying will ring true to young readers (and older ones who've "been there"), as will her difficulties with her parents and with getting adults to take her seriously.

Part of the fun is the reveals of plot and character, so I don't want to give too much away in this review. This is a great introduction to this character and a series I expect to continue to enjoy.
