I love The Illiad and I loved The Song of Achilles just as much. Whilst being true to Homer's poem, Madeline Miller centres her story around the relationship between Patroclus and Achilles, told from the viewpoint of Patroclus. Itiss extremely tender and moving, but still retains the fabulous war story that is The Illiad.
