really liked it

I won this in a Goodreads giveaway and I’m glad I did because I probably wouldn’t have picked it up in the store, purely based on the cover. Yes, yes, I know the old saying, but c’mon, we all do it. Not that it’s not a nice cover. It IS a nice cover. But it doesn’t exactly scream “scary”, does it? And this book is meant to be scary. I say “meant to be” because I didn’t find it particularly creepy (I read a lot of Stephen King and there’s just no comparison), but I can see where other people might be creeped out. I did have a hard time putting it down. The characters are likeable and interesting and the story moves along at just the right pace, even though I figured it out early on. All in all it was a very good story and I’ll certainly pick up Ms St. James' next book.
