it was amazing

I just love the Miss Fortune series. It has all of things I enjoy: a strong but vulnerable herione, mystery, intrigue, action and comedy. In "Fortune Furlough," Fortune takes Gertie and Ida Belle on a resort vacation off the Florida coast. Gertie brings six bikinis with her to attract men. Yep, I said Gertie and bikinis in the same sentence. As you might imagine, once she gets into the water she loses her top when she almost drowns. However, a man name Otis comes to her rescue and preceeds to ask her out to dinner.

Fortune and Ida Belle are concerned that Gertie is going to tell them all of the intimate details of her date but before she can launch herself into the story there is a pounding on the door and on the other side is the police. It seems that Otis was discovered dead in his room and Gertie of course was the last person to have seen him. Officer Benton wants to talk to Gertie and he is not very intelligent or likeable. He would much rather take the easy way out and pin the murder on Gertie. Yes, good old Otis was murder and although Fortune knows that Carter will be none too thrill to find her investigating the crime outside of the confines of Louisiana she will do anything to help her friends.

It is discovered that Otis was a womanizer and a con-artist who has extorted money from a string on broken hearted women; but, which one actually killed him? In order to solve this case, the Swamp Team is really going to have to pull out all of the stops. Storylines don't get any better than this and Jana Deleon is a master at weaving a good tale. If you haven't yet discovered the "Miss Fortune" series, I highly recommend that you start with the first book. You will not be disappointed.
