This is a series of short vignettes about time interspersed with brief glimpses of Einstein as he is forming his theory and writing his relativity paper. A lot of the time variations Lightman postulates have been explored in much longer books. Perhaps I was a bit disappointed since I'd heard this book was really remarkable.I enjoyed a number of the vignettes and thought Lightman captured emotions related to time well, but I found it to be only a mildly entertaining distraction, not a masterpiece.
