really liked it
bookshelves: adventure, fantasy, fiction, ya, childrens-books

Having finally read this last book of the Longlight Legacy, I have to say that it's a pretty good trilogy. There are moments when Foon's writing drives me up the wall, especially some of the dialogue, but it's a good story, and one that keeps developing through the trilogy, as do the characters. So many recent children's and YA fantasy novel sequences seem to get worse as they go along, but not this one--everyone really does grow into a more complex and interesting person, even the bad guys, so that I cared about following them through to the end, which I often don't by book 3.
