From Ms. Mabee: This book immediately hooked me, and I nearly finished it one sitting. In this powerful, gripping graphic novel memoir, Jarrett Krosoczka walks you through his life from when he was born to young adulthood. With a mother struggling with addiction and a father not present in his early years, Jarrett gets adopted by his grandfather and shares the ups and downs of his childhood growing up in his grandparents' home and navigating a difficult relationship with his mother. Jarrett's graphic memoir is a beautiful work of art, with a shadowed and subdued style that made me feel as if I was immersed in Jarrett's memories. At times both heartbreaking and heartwarming, Jarrett's story is an important one that shares how addiction can affect a family and how hope can be found through art.
