The Golden Specific (The Mapmakers Trilogy, #2)
Another enjoyable adventure with Sophia and Theo - except this time they each have their own separate quest to pursue (Sophia to find her parents, and Theo to help save Shadrack from persecution). As with the first book in the series, we discover more fascinating and tantalizing aspects of the world they live in: future Ages, and contact with folks from the future Ages, and hints about what the Ages actually are. Also, more cool maps! However, this book also carries forward the same (minor but frustrating) flaw in that there is still no description of how the maps are made or how they work. Sigh. At least this time the title makes sense. :) I also enjoyed getting to read Sophia's mother's journal. And finally, there's more character development in this book.
