Quinn Roberts was murdered. Now she wants to know why .....
She's frustrated because she doesn't know exactly where she is ... she's there, but not here. She sees and hears her children, other family members mourn her passing. Her friends, though, seem to forget about her in short order.
Quinn was in the midst of a contentious divorce from her husband, Alec. He was a cheater for many of their 20 plus years together. Now it seems he has taken a new wife .. and a new life.
Detective John McQuillan leads the investigation and does not deviate from looking for her killer. There are several suspects, and as they are one by one cleared, the pool of possibles shrinks.
Several years go by with no new leads. Moving the investigation into the Cold Case Files, Quinn's children and sister fear that the killer will never be caught.
This is an outstanding psychological drama featuring finely drawn credible characters. There are those you love and those you love to hate. Quinn's past is minutely examined and told by Quinn herself. Who is lying .... who has secrets ... who killed Quinn and why?

I have this on my list although the name of the book changed. I like this tiltle better.

I have seen this book in reviews compared to, lovely bones by Alice Sebold which I really didn't enjoy, now I'm put off reading it, are the two books similar?

I didn't like any of the characters, found a lot of holes in the plot and quite boring. Loved without her consent so might give it a go.
