it was amazing
bookshelves: young-adult, made-into-a-movie, bildungsroman, in-miranda-s-library, midwest-setting, book-within-a-book, first-person-narrative
Read from July 30 to August 07, 2016

This is my second dalliance with John Green YA. I read LOOKING FOR ALASKA a few years ago and found it far less important than it wanted to be. This one, on the other hand, hits right on the mark. I loved the characters, I loved the dialogue, and I loved the confidence (both definitions of the word) that John Green showed in his writing. Thank you to my daughter, Miranda, for making me finally read it.

Janine Flood A few years late to the party, as usual. Finally reading it at the request of my daughter.

Mrs. Danvers I'm so glad I read this before I had really heard anything about it. I understand why so many people reading it now aren't crazy about it and I'm so glad it got to you. I think that, absent all the hype, it is very powerful.
