Pretty good, all in all! By no means a challenging read but lots to recommend it. The pace is good - maybe a little too fast at time (I have trouble believing Munroe would be quite so accepting) and I wanted to know more background, but since it's part of a series I would hope some of that comes out later and I'll definitely be looking for the second book. Atmosphere is good - it really reminded me of Ian Rankin's Rebus novels, I thought of Munroe as a much older character than he was probably designed to be. The other thing it reminded me of was the Changling roleplaying game (White Wolf), with the spheres of magic and so on.

Are faeries the new vampires? I guess so!
