it was amazing

This book was thoroughly enjoyed by my two classes of grade eight girls. It introduced some very deep, mature themes in simple, understandable ways. It was also rather subtle, so that issues such as prostitution and the "virgin cure" went right over the heads of some more sheltered, literal readers-- and that's ok, it made the book accessible to different types of readers, and I liked that. Having the author visit our school and meet with us was the icing on the cake.
