A Riveting Read!

This exceptional memoire details the authors life of growing up mormon & the trials and tribulations that come with a religious upbringing. Adding to the pressures of that family experience, and knowing he is gay, the author unfolds a beautiful story of resisting family & religious expectations, and finding ones true authentic self self. The story is told in flashbacks that are detailed & quite personal with genuine honesty and compassion. Details of the authors life are told in a "cliffhanger" fashion that leaves you wanting more and concluding in a deliciously satisfying manner. This book is especially satisfying for those like myself who grew up in a dysfunctional family setting where roles were played and ones true identity was snuffed out via religious oppression and guilt. The shame aspect is beautifully processed thru these stories and awareness of identifying with ones own life experience. Highly recommended!
