really liked it
bookshelves: graphic-novels, humor, unicorns, magical-creatures

In the introduction, Peter S. Beagle (how did she get him to write an introduction?!?) compares this to Calvin and Hobbes, and holy crap, he's right. This doesn't quite reach the heights of that outstanding work, but in the fundamentals--the relationship between Phoebe and Marigold, their interactions with other people, their basic characters--it's eerily similar. My husband brought this home from the library to see if our (adult and presumably responsible) daughter might be interested; she has a minor reading disability and manga and graphic novels are perfect for her. But we were the ones who fell in love with it instead. Really very fun, and I want to search out the rest of them now.
