Lee Howard's Reviews > Halloween Fiend
This was a new, expanded take on Shirley Jackson's "The Lottery." The monstrous dark figure of Halloween is loose in the sorry little town of Strang. Every night, they must feed it animals as a treat. But once a year, someone is chosen from among the citizenry to be its annual sacrifice. On All Hallow's Eve, the whole town comes together to celebrate the drawing of the "dot." But Barry has something else in mind. Teaming up with a couple of out-of-town carnies, they do their best to buck the system. This was an imaginative tale with interesting characters. Hunt did a great job of painting real characters and telling the story. Recommended for lovers of Halloween.
