really liked it
bookshelves: historical-fiction, reviewed, library-books
Recommended for: fans of historical fiction, and strong female characters
Read in June, 2007

I liked that it was about a 16 year old newlywed, who's husband goes off to fight in the Civil War, and lives with her Mother-in-Law on a farm. She's young and flirty, and gets into trouble constantly with her Mother-in-Law. There was more serious plot than I was expecting, such as rape and murder, but I ended up really liking the book.
