really liked it

I wish I’d read this book back in high school, it was so up my old alley, and some of the problems of the time (like head hopping and info dumping) wouldn’t have bothered me half as much as they did current me. I still thoroughly enjoyed it though, especially the way there was no need to explain why gay characters could ‘exist’ (read: not be horribly persecuted) as a quite a few lgbt inclusive fantasy I’ve read recently have. I like the fact there’s no disparaging them and no need to explain why - if only the real world could hurry up and follow suit.

There was a great sense of adventure and all the characters had rich back story and motivations, this might’ve been a five star if it weren’t for the egregious head hopping. I’m going to see if this author has any more recent works (so I don’t have that 80s/90s head hopping ;p )
