it was amazing
bookshelves: young-adult

Oh wow, this woman can write. She wraps you up in her dark, wild, lovely, brutal island of Tishby with its terrifyingly gorgeous horses from the sea and drags you under, and you don't breathe a word of protest because you're too busy feeling the salt spray and cowering before the storm winds and nibbling on a butter-honey-rich November cake. Then she adds two fierce-yet-vulnerable young protagonists, and you're off to the races. Powerful stuff! Please write more!

I liked this even better than The Raven Boys. It feels more focused and intense. (But if you liked The Scorpio Races, do read [bookThe Raven Boys] too.)
