really liked it
bookshelves: spy, russia, world-war-ii, cold-war

Meier weaves together an emotional and haunting story from tiny fragments of evidence, and he does a superlative job. Too often historians try to fill the gaps with speculation or conjecture, but Meier wisely leaves the gaps where they appear, a choice that makes the story of Cy Oggins's life and death that much more gut-wrenching.
