Kathy Reichs's debut into the teenage genre seems to be a hit. If you have read Reichs's other adult books based on the t.v. series Bones you will probably find this book an easy and intriguing read.

Tory Brennan is the niece of the famous Dr. Temperance Brennan, and with that being said, she is a lot like her in many ways. The setting is Charleston, South Carolina. Tor lives with her dad Christopher "Kit" on Loggerhead Island, and the book leads you through the ins and outs of their relationship, as he wasn't aware that he even had a daughter. There is intrigue, mystery, wild discoveries and of course bones! Tory sticks mainly with her friends from the island, Ben, Hi (Hiram) and Shelton. They inevitably run across one item that leads to another--with dead ends, new partial leads they push through running headlong into a cold case file. With all their wit and ingenious abilities surrounding their individual specialties they make the read a captivating one.
