it was amazing
bookshelves: color-recognition

I really think that children will enjoy this book as little as 2 years old. The main character is a weird looking animal which we do not know what it is and i think that would make children curious and maybe spark their imagination. We could come up with ideas of what animal features it has in it. The sentences are short and they rhyme. It is a great book to put some rhythm in it to make a more dramatic. I also love that this book is sold with the stuffed main character. Children get to physically experience the story. It is also a great book for color recognition.

Extension activity: Children will be given a small box with different color dots in them. For example, there will be 1 red dot, 2 blue dots, 3 green dots, and 4 purple dots. They will be asked to separate the dots by colors and find out how many they have of each and how many the have in total. After they know that, they will be given a paper where they can draw the animal whom they can put the dots on.
