it was ok
bookshelves: gave-up

I get the impression that this could be a nice story but I've had to give up after forcing myself to go as far as 15% of the way through. If this novel has ever been near a remotely professional editor then the author was conned.

Chapter one -
A three steeple church, with a plethora of gravestones sticking out of it... - who ever saw a church with gravestones sticking out???

Chapter two -
T-shirt and t-shirt on the same page.
...a twenty minute bus drive away... - not too many passengers get the opportunity to drive the bus! :)
...displays of affection was... - should be were.
...his t-shirt had rode up - should be ridden.
Sandra had ran over to... - run over to.
...would probably have rang... - rung.

Chapter three -
D.S. Blake is formally from... - formerly!

It was at this point that I gave up - I haven't mentioned the numerous punctuation and spelling errors, but for me, life is too short!
