I liked this one a lot. It's about an infantryman from WWII serving in the Pacific theater. Opened my eyes to true experiences of men on the front lines, watching his friends die, and killing the enemy. A perspective that is truly mesmerizing. Check it out if you're into this type of history! The tv series "The Pacific" was based off this novel. Now I'm off to write a paper on it!

I would enjoy this even if I didn't HAVE to read it. I highly suggest it to anyone who is interested in an incredible first hand, infantrymen account of the war. You'll never look at it the same again!"
