liked it

I really like this plot and I thought it was great as an introductory book to the series, with its interesting subplot about the resistance which will be developed further ahead. However, Nathaniel is extremely unpleasant and Bartimaeus is not much better. I like my main characters flawed, sure, but give me at least something to like about them! Nathaniel was just a conceited, ambitious brat who got the only good person in the book killed just to get back at Lovelace, and got lucky at the end, nothing noble about him. Still, it was a good story and I will continue reading it :)
