I LOVE fairy tales, so it was virtually impossible that I'd read these Grisha-verse fairy tales and not be filled with joy. I especially loved the way certain traditions were turned on their heads, like in the tales the girl told to the beast all Scheherazade-style.
They were largely well paced despite several having traditional fairy tale prose styles, except the last, which I felt could have done just as much in almost half the time (but this might be because i read this one via audiobook with my husband who can't read at 2x speed, so perhaps it was perception?)
Also, I need to find me the illustrated version. Need.
