Rapunzel is a young girl, living in a villa with a woman named Gothel, whom she thought was her mother. The villa is surrounded by an incredibly tall stone wall. Rapunzel is plagued with nightmares that Gothel advises her to ignore, but a gut feeling leads Rapunzel to believe that the answer to her nightmares is just beyond the villa’s stone wall. Once Rapunzel makes it over the wall, guards catch her and send her back. While she was on the other side, she met a woman who looked familiar. The woman realizes that Rapunzel is the child her husband traded for food many years earlier. Rapunzel was taken back over the wall where she confronts the woman she thought was her mother. The Gothel is angered and banishes the Rapunzel deep into the forest and into a hollow tree to live. During that time, her hair grew incredibly long and due to being bored, she decided to make her locks useful. She escapes the towering tree, meets Jack and together they battle danger, imprisonment and wild beasts. Rapunzel is on a trek to rescue her real mother from the Gothel’s dungeon. Rapunzel’s long locks are lost, but she continues her adventure. In the end, she wins love and a wonderful life in more ways than she ever expects.
Rapunzel’s Revenge is a hilarious twist on the original tale. Rapunzel escapes the towering tree only to wind up in the Wild West. She meets Jack and both travel together to rescue Rapunzel’s mother and take-down the Gothel. The story is fast paced and doesn’t grow complacent or boring. The illustrations only add to a great story!
