All the Pieces Matter: The Inside Story of The Wire

The things that reform systems are trauma. Great trauma. Nobody gives up status quo without being pushed to the wall.
The Wire is my favorite TV show. I've watched it twice (first time in 2011) and I'll definitely watch it again someday. I'm not alone, as it's considered among the greatest TV shows of all time. While the characters and their stories are great, what it sets it apart from other shows, was the examination of the whole city system and how hard it is to change.
As a huge fan of the show, I've loved reading this book. It's a great companion piece, which elevates and enhances the viewing experience.
