it was amazing

Cracker is about a German Shepherd named cracker. Her owner's dad had lost his job and they had to move in to a smaller apartment. Which didn't allow dogs he was very sad overall. They saw these ads about the us. military going to Vietnam and needing German Sheppard war dogs. So they opptied to send her there. When they came to get her she was biteing and scowling not wanting to go with them. They said she was the meanest dog they've ever met. Which she wasn't but just mad that she had to leave. This dude who was just turning 17 got his parents to sign a paper so he can join the military and of course he got drafted to vietnam. He and his friend were at training and got there dogs. Most of them got really trained dogs except for him he got cracker! It took them about 2 months before she even started to like him and follow a long. She was a bomb sniffing dog. They were in the middle of the war and a bomb went off and hit him and he was brought to the hostpital and she didn't go with she was left there (perfectly healthy.)

Her owner was very anxious to get out of the hostpital and kept telling everyone my dog is still out there! He was so worried but no one was doing any thing eventually he got out but had to go back to the states he complained a lot about cracker being gone of the length of the book eventually they found her and she was returned to the boy at the beging of the book.
