did not like it
bookshelves: 1930s, brit-lit, libraries, mysteries, reads-19, vintage-mystery

The author wants to create a sinister atmosphere so we have a foreign shore, unknown dialect, fog and rain, darkness, passages and tunnels, people who appear and disappear in the mist, bow-legged and scarred men, women who resemble witches from fairy tales....and people who do not shut-up.

Scream I did but out of sheer boredom.

First Line: I came away to find an idea for a story, and after two weeks of fruitless searching I have found one with a vengeance.
