Kate's life is a mess, newly divorced and fired from her job due to a set-up from a co-worker, she has left the Detroit area. A small town near Traverse City, Michigan is her choice. Her plan is to open a bed-and-breakfast in her family's summer home on the shores of Lake Michigan.
She broke and needs a job to obtain her goal for the summer home. After she is fired from one job due to skunky beer, she goes to the Depot Bar and demands a job there because their bad beer is the reason for the lose of her job.
Matt gives her a job running the dish-washer. He also makes a deal with her to find the person who has been vandalizing his business.
I like the voice of the narrator, Lorelei King, and is was not a problem that she is also the voice for the Stephanie Plum audio books.
