it was amazing

Blown. Away. This book deserves more than five stars. It's been a long time since I cried so hard over a book. It's not an easy one to read, that's for sure. But if you like stories of triumph over the most horrifying circumstances ever seen on this planet, then I'd highly recommend this book. I knew it was based on the author's family, but reading the Author's Notes and the "Since Then" afterward, it was so amazing to me how very closely she followed their true life story. It's almost as if the book doesn't deserve to be called fiction, though of course she did have to imagine specific conversations and such. From the time Addy got the telegram in South America, I couldn't stop crying through the rest of the book. I'm still crying now as I remember it. Thank you, Georgia Hunter, for this amazing story of your amazing family. I think WE, the readers, are really the lucky ones.
