Reading this I couldn't believe that I had not heard of the Peabody sisters earlier. The book is an impressive piece of work - packed full of characters, history and insight and yet not at all heavy.

Feminism and transcendetalism together are also a magic combination for me.

And then of course, there is the sibling rivalry....
