** spoiler alert ** I don't really know how to feel about this one... it kinda felt like an ignominious end for Arthur Dent, but I read the Quintessential Phase thing on Wikipedia and was a lot happier with the prospect of him meeting back up with Fenchurch in the great blue lagoons beyond the end of the universe... Anywho, I do think this was a great book, particularly the talk between Random and the Guide, but it was kind of a bleak ending, and it's a shame we're robbed of knowing if Adams wanted to keep the story going much more.

That said, still awesome. Great series. Read all of them and feel like life is more complete because of it.
