While I did not enjoy this book as much as The Glass Castle, it was a well written and memorable story about authors maternal grandmother, Lily. She was an impressive woman and true pioneer. Lily had a strong voice and such a full life that was truly an inspiration to think a person could do so much in a lifetime. Lily broke horses, trained and raced horses, started teaching at 15, was a mother, rancher and lady pilot just to name a few. If you think you have it rough just open up this book and see how tenacious and resourceful a woman can be.
