really liked it
Read from April 30 to May 08, 2012

Two things I loved about this book, and the author:

1 - she writes awesome action sequences! I really felt like I was there with the Shells, eyes turning black. It was very descriptive, but beyond that, just very well written.

2 - Jamie McGuire writes great secondary characters. Not only did I feel connected to Nina and her love for Jared, and his clear, undying love for her, but I loved Claire, Ryan and Bex! Ryan is a hoot (and his interactions with Claire are awesome) and Bex is just such a wonderful, kick-ass little-big guy! I appreciate that these secondary characters were also completely fleshed out. Too many times authors focus soley on the main characters and the secondary characters are one-dimensional - not McGuire though,,, she knows how to write them.

I continue to be extremely impressed with McGuire, especially since she is self-published.
