it was amazing
bookshelves: mystery-thriller, hard-boiled

This debut novel blew my mind. I wasn't sure what the book was about before I bought it, but I am so glad that I did! Sometimes, when you read the descriptions of the cold, cold winter and the starving families, you feel the wind blowing and the hunger in your belly, the despair of the citizens who had nowhere to go and nothing left. It is a rich, evocative, and suspenseful work. I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys a well-written thriller.
